What is CVE-2026-2386?

CVE-2026-2386 is an access control bypass flaw in The Plus Addons for Elementor โ€“ Addons for Elementor, Page Templates, Widgets, Mega Menu, WooCommerce. Authenticated or in some cases unauthenticated requests reach endpoints they should not be allowed to call, exposing administrative functionality or sensitive data. Vendor description: The The Plus Addons for Elementor โ€“ Addons for Elementor, Page Templates, Widgets, Mega Menu, WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Incorrect Authorization in all versions up to, and including, 6.4.7. This is due to the tpae_create_page() AJAX handler authorizing users only with current_user_can('edit_posts') while accepting a user-controlled 'post_type' value passed directly to wp_insert_post() without post-type-specific capability checks.

Why this CVE matters

Access control flaws let an attacker reach endpoints the developers assumed would be reserved for administrators. The impact depends on what those endpoints expose, but for management products the answer is usually configuration changes, log access, or credential reads.

For deployments of The Plus Addons for Elementor โ€“ Addons for Elementor, Page Templates, Widgets, Mega Menu, WooCommerce that have been exposed to the public internet during the disclosure window, the operating assumption should be that scanning has already happened. Even where exploitation has not been publicly observed, scanning for the vulnerable fingerprint is cheap and routine. Patching closes the door; log review and credential rotation close out the rest of the response.

Restrict access to the management interface to trusted internal IP addresses only. Block public access at the firewall and require VPN for any remote administration. Apply the patch as soon as a maintenance window allows.

How to verify the fix worked

If your installation was internet-reachable during the disclosure window, treat log review as part of the remediation rather than an optional follow-up.
