What is CVE-2026-22045?

CVE-2026-22045 is an OS command injection bug in traefik. The product builds a shell command from untrusted input without escaping, so injected metacharacters run as the service account, often root or SYSTEM. Vendor description: Traefik is an HTTP reverse proxy and load balancer. Prior to 2.11.35 and 3.6.7, there is a potential vulnerability in Traefik ACME TLS certificates' automatic generation: the ACME TLS-ALPN fast path can allow unauthenticated clients to tie up go routines and file descriptors indefinitely when the ACME TLS challenge is enabled.

Why this CVE matters

Command injection in a network appliance or management console gives the attacker the same privileges as the service account, which is usually root or SYSTEM. From there, persistence, lateral movement, and credential theft follow with off-the-shelf tooling.
